Poetry Reading

Tuesday, February 23rd at 7:30 PM, in the Acton Memorial Library meeting room William Corbett will speak on ‘The New American Poetry.’ This will be about what modernist American poets, including both Creeley and Snyder, took from sources as varied at William Carlos Williams and ancient Chinese poetry, and explore what makes a good poem in American poetry from 1945 to the present. Corbett teaches writing at MIT. His current books of poetry are Poems On Occasion and Opening Day.
